Who can report
The rights holder (author, composer, performer, publisher, producer), or someone acting for them (agent, lawyer, an authors’ society such as MASA).
What to send
The work: title, author, and if possible a link to the original.
Where it is with us: the page address, or the name of the lesson, piece or video in the app, and the school if it is a school.
Your contact details: name, e-mail address, phone, and in what capacity you act.
A good-faith statement: “I believe in good faith that this use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or the law, and the information in this notice is accurate.”
Your signature (your name typed at the end of the e-mail is enough).
Where to send it
By e-mail to chrisguitartuto@gmail.com, subject “Copyright”. You may also warn us on WhatsApp, but send the full e-mail.
What we do
We acknowledge receipt within 48 hours.
If the notice is complete and plausible, we remove or disable the content while we check.
We tell the person or school who uploaded it, with a copy of the notice (without your private details if you ask).
We answer you with the outcome: content removed for good, or put back after a counter-notice.
Disputing (counter-notice)
If your content was removed and you believe you have the right to use it (it is your work, you have permission, it is a short quotation for teaching), write to the same address, subject “Counter-notice”: the content removed, why you have the right, your contact details, a good-faith statement and your signature.
We pass the counter-notice to the person who reported. If they do not show us within 14 days that they have started legal action, we may put the content back. [Period to be confirmed by the lawyer.]
Repeat infringers
An account that is the subject of several valid notices (three in twelve months) is closed. For a school, the school’s access is suspended, after a warning.
Chris’s arrangements
The riffs and arrangements by Chris in the method follow the Artists policy: short extracts, the official video linked, removal within seven days at the artist’s request.
Misuse
A false or bad-faith notice may make its sender liable.
